The Central Government has notified a significant increase in the salaries and pensions of current and former Members of Parliament (MPs) and ex-MPs, effective April 1, 2023. This adjustment marks a 24% increase in monthly salaries, elevating them from ₹1,00,000 to ₹1,24,000. Additionally, the daily allowance for MPs has also seen a rise from ₹2,000 to ₹2,500, equating to a monthly allowance of ₹60,000 for 30 days.Furthermore, the monthly pension rate for ex-MPs is being adjusted from ₹25,000 to ₹31,000.
